The 100% restaurant-grade stainless steel turner has an ergonomic wooden handle that fits comfortably in your hand. The slots allow grease to drain off as you cook. Tips for cleaning a fish spatula
- Rinse under hot water. Use dish soap and a sponge or washcloth to gently scrub the spatula head and handle to remove any food residues or oils. Make sure to get into crevices and slots.
- For stuck-on foods, let the spatula soak in warm, soapy water for 15–30 minutes to loosen the debris before scrubbing. You can also use a bottle brush, toothbrush, or other small brush to get into narrow spaces.
- Use a non-abrasive scrub pad made for nonstick pans to clean the surface without damaging it. Avoid using steel wool or other abrasive scrubbers.
- If there are odors in the wood handle, sprinkle baking soda on the wood and rub gently with a damp sponge. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing.
- Sanitize using a food-safe disinfectant spray or diluted bleach—1 tablespoon of bleach per 1 quart of water. Let the sanitizing solution sit briefly before a final rinse.
- Dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel to prevent spots and corrosion. Fully drying wood handles is important to keep them sealed and free of cracks.
